Doing what’s right.
Stewardship is an important and central role in how we conduct business at Simmons. Not only is it good business but it’s the right thing to do, and so we take very seriously our responsibilities to customers, employees, and the communities within we operate.
We think it is very important to protect our environment.
Our Southwest City, Missouri, plant is one of the most water-conserving facilities in our industry. We constantly explore innovative uses for used poultry house litter. We require our contracted growers to adhere to state environmental laws concerning utilization of litter for fertilizer. This includes employing a nutrient management plan for each farm. Taking a pro-active stance, we have voluntarily adopted non-phosphorous soaps at our truck wash facilities. Simmons’ Management participates in the Illinois River Watershed Partnership.
